What You Didn't Notice in Disney

CNN: What's Wrong with Sex Education in Porn?

I highly support sex education when kids start asking questions and/or in elementary school. Children are loosing their virginity as early as the age of 9 or younger. I've had friends that had their virginity taken away from them at 9, many of these children are being molested by older kids and/or adults. My biggest issue is the stds and stis that are spread due to ignorance.

Fortunately for me, I knew what sex was by the time I was 6 years old. I clearly remember when the other kids in my kindergarten class found out. I thought to myself, "Haha I already know what sex is!" My mother never withheld this type of information from me and I'm glad she didn't because it saved me.

I remember distinctly watching a show called Fences and one of the characters (a young boy) asked his parents what a condom was, so I asked my mother. She went into the closet (I was 6 or 7), she pulled out a condom, took it out of the wrapper, and rolled it down her arm, then proceeded to explain. If it had not been for my mother I would have probably been a teen mom.

I was raised by my father and step-mother, and they never talked or educated me on anything about sex. When I finally decided to find out what sex was, my first planned experience did not occur only because they guy did not have a condom. I remembered what my mother taught me about a condom at the age of 6. So, I should be thanking my mom for sharing that piece of info. See the power of knowledge! If it weren't for her I would have been a mother myself in my preteens or even contracted an incurable std. Thanks Mom!

I'm a 74 yr. old Japanese Porn Star

I held and held and held and held, now finally, its up. I like Shigeo's way of thinking. I find it to be interesting how the Japanese are one of the least sexually motivated amongst cultures, yet they have such an immense sex scene. Prime example, you will rarely, in fact maybe never see public display of affection.  Meaning, no holding of the hands, no kissing, no hugging, etc. I learned that though Japanese men will watch sex (porn), they may not actually being engaging in sex with, lets say, their wife. Here are some articles you can check out: Sexless Japan // News Watching  Hopefully, times have changed.

The Forbidden Dance --- Lambada!

I can't believe this wasn't one my very first post, but I'm bringing it to you now. This was one of my all time favorite dance movies growing up. Its been a long time, but I use to know all the moves. The song is powerful and the dancing... well, I love dance, so I don't have much to say. I posted almost every version I could find so I would recommend watching them all because each is a different clip.

From the movie:

My favorite version. She lets her hair done. I still get chills when I watch this.

I love this part too

The Kinsey Institute's 6th Annual Juried Art Show at SoFA

If you haven't heard The Kinsey Institute recently had its annual Juried Art Show.  If you are unfamiliar with The Kinsley Institute here's a brief synopsis: They are located in Indiana for starters.  The institute was built for the research of sex, gender, reproduction, and, of course, there's always that little room for "other".

The photos were amazing.  I posted a few (the ones I liked the most), which I personally feel are too many, but I couldn't help myself.  To check out the entire exhibit click here.

Continuing Education Credits

CEUs will be available through the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) for certain workshops (1.25 credits per workshop for a maximum of 17.5 credits).  These credits are for licensed social workers, licensed clinical social workers, licensed marriage & family therapists, and licensed professional counselors, as approved by NASW-PA (a pre-approved provider by the PA State Board of Social Workers, Marriage & Family Therapists, & Professional Counselors).  CEUs may be transferable for other disciplines.

There is no charge to attend any workshops at the PhiladelphiaTrans-Health Conference. However, there is a charge to receive credits and your CE certificate:

2.50 to 6.25 credits –  $25 flat fee ($15 for NASW members)
7.50 or more credits –  $5 per credit ($4 per credit for NASW members)

You must have a minimum 2.5 credits to receive a certificate.

To obtain CEUs, pick up a CEU packet at the Registration Table.  The packet will identify which workshops have been approved for CEUs (they will also be listed in the program book on pp 99-100).  At the end of your time at the Conference turn in the completed packet and workshop evaluations to the Registration Table.  Payment will be collected at that time (credit card, cash, or check payable to Mazzoni Center). Certificates will then be mailed to you.

We look forward to seeing you at the conference!

2nd Annual Sex Worker Cabaret

Second Annual New York City
Sex Worker Cabaret
Sunday, June 12, 2011

Sex workers take the stage at Public Assembly in Brooklyn to tell their diverse stories through performance, video, narrative, puppetry, burlesque, comedy and more. This event starts with a selection of short videos about sex work around the globe, and then features an all-star lineup of eleven performers. Tickets can be purchased for $12 in advance at www.sexworkercabaret.com or at the event for $15 -- and early ticket buyers get a goodie bag from Pleasure Chest!

This Sunday evening cabaret showcases some of the most vibrant creative talent in the sex worker community. Come listen to tales of self-determination, and bear witness to survival and celebration as sex workers eloquently — and at times raunchily — speak their truths. A diverse array of performances will be presented by A, Aimee Herman, Audacia Ray, Ceyenne Doroshow, Essence Revealed, Inbred Hybrid Collective, The Incredible, Edible, Akynos, Lady MoustachĂ©, Mariko Passion, Venus Flytrap, and Zachary Wager Scholl. The video artists featured in this event are Brown Meshugana, Gina Carducci & Mattilda Bernstein Sycamore, Laura Murray, Leanne Gillard, Ms Virilia Crush, & MĂ©e Rose, and the Red Umbrella Project. I hope these girls were paid some serious money for those shakes. I was exhausted watching. Maybe I should try it; looks like a serious workout.

Spanish Sex Workers or Trafficking?

Brene Brown breaks down The Power of Vulnerability

I was going to hold off on posting this video, but I learned so much. Brene's words were a sure-line mind stimulator that made me demand myself the post, and immediately. Just felt this was on a "NEED-TO-KNOW-NOW" basis. I only wish I had watched this years ago. Plus, Brene Brown somewhat reminds me of myself, except, I may not be as organized annnnd I'm a bit of a procrastinator. I work better under pressure. Thats so bad. I would never recommend last minute.

I swear 18 minutes and 54 seconds in I felt like I was attending (which I haven't been to in ahhhh...geesh) church ::um hmm, um hmm, um hmm::

You can't selectively numb emotion. I admit I'm guilty of believing that I can. You numb joy. See, I had never considered that.  Now that I think about it, that statement has to be true because I get angry when I realize my thoughts are where I don't want them to be.  Oh, and let me reach for a bottle.. liquor really doesn't help.  It only, most definitely, addresses the issue and solves nothing.

Culture @ its Best

With a big cheese on the face....  Aside from the psychedelic movement in the background, this is the real life experience of dancing at Bashment (dancehall) Parties.  All that's missing, is a jam packed "cloudy" space (if held in the states during the winter or in anal neighborhoods), sweat dripping faces holding cups of liquor, about 4 sound selectahs, and no lights.  Now if you're on the islands, lets say Jamaica, this would be held outside with women jumping into splits off of tall speakers with or without a guy to land on.  If you don't know the culture and have never been, it is definitely an experience in itself.

This video was posted too sexy for youtube.  Yup!  Dem nuh ready fi dis! :))

Dan Savage speaks: The Price of Admission

I was really attempting to limit myself to one post a day, but I was browsing through fb pages and landed on the Dan Savage page. Anywho... He had a video up, I look a look, then saw the title of a link on youtube's panel that caught my interest immediately. Of course, clicked on it. His advice was so good I said I just couldn't wait. So here it is, and I hope you get out of it as much as I did.

Stop Bad Breathe Before It Starts

Of course, you are probably wondering why I would post a video about bad breathe, well, let me see..... Can you stand to be around someone with bad breathe? I can't. And, I surely wouldn't recommend it for obvious reasons. Ever smell coffee breathe, phewww! I lived with one. Funny thing is, I've noticed throughout my lifespan that many attractive females, especially, and males have stinky mouths. I always wondered if bad breathe really matters; for me, its a definite killer. I'll tell you one thing, it sure enough did not push the fellas away from those so called "pretty girls," for them it was just one more thing to put up with before panty entrance :)

I grew up around a couple chronic bad breathe people. Probably explains why I do not engage in too much conversation with them to this day. Lol. Fortunately, I didn't suffer from that problem (I was crazy about my teeth, even as a youngster) ::dentist fanatic:: I literally scrubbed my teeth for 10 min. at least two times a day, though I will admit, I failed to floss ::bad habit:: Took me years to understand its importance, but I floss now!
